Top Gear magazine is undoubtedly one of the most well recognized authorities in realm of automotive publications. With worldwide circulation, many of their loyal readers look to them for thoughts and advice on everything nice. Especially when it comes to their Gift Guides and Top 5’s. This month the magazine is bundled with a promotional DVD, so it is exceptional value on top of the fact you can revel at us over the holidays and hint to your sweetheart where you would have liked to put a bow [other then on lingerie]. I mean come on, Top Gear! How much cooler would it be to get your kids out of the house instead of another video game system. It should be some timely and legitimate reinforcement that your boys can still play with some awesome toys. Tins for Tots has been a successful contest thus far. We are still awaiting some artists submissions but since we are asking to borrow their time, we are also very patient when they request a little more. It never takes away from the excitement when we get the call that they are done. We just got word from EGR that hers are en route! My dog is very upset that I am perched on his spot at the window waiting for the mailman. Below is a preview and a teaser. The preview being the fenders and the teaser being the fact they were decked out by a dime piece who is an aerosol expert. Oh Canada, represent represent! We know we are enlightening some of you, so below is also a little background on our homegirl.
Erica Gosich Rose, better known as EGR , grew up in Burlington, VT. but has called Toronto, Canada her home and canvas for some time. Through her schooling and experiences, she developed a fascination with street art that became her passion. EGR’s works have been adorning art galleries and urban settings in various cities around the world. Part of EGR’s appeal is her ability to bridge art, design and functional purpose. With a unique female perspective, EGR conjures up pop culture and social references to convey her messages. As a diamond in the rough in the boys’ club of urban world, she has long established herself as a pioneer in street art. Basically, she has brought to the art community what we are to juvenile products. Check out her site and other works here. Not to be cynical because I own a tux, but weddings are a disaster and seemingly even more complicated when you know that there’s also a bun in the oven. Forget what the in-laws will think, its more what cutesy chazarai they are going to buy you that you now have to chase around town to return. Men don’t be chuckling they are your relatives now so this is probably your job. Worse, its an out of town purchase, there is no receipt or you already have 6.
Heck, you know what is half the problem in trying to get your friends that amazing gift to express how much you really care and are elated to be celebrating the monumental occasion….budget [at least for most of the real world]. There is not that much out there to buy that really conveys that special sentiment. Sort of a supportive backhand to the face to say, ‘f-you now I need a new wingman…but I love you and you’re my homie for life’. Before the woman was involved, picking up the bar tab was sufficient. Now, if you want to be staking any claim as the uncle from another mother you best be getting on the wifey’s good side. No, picking up her bar tab is probably not gonna win you any brownie points. Taking charge and getting the guys together to put in on a Roddler…show her that you are grown up and him that daddiness can be kind of pimp too. Next thing you know you’ve got dibs on the end seat and introductions to her friends. Ok, lets start with just the end seat…and a beer.

As one of our earliest supporters and hands down the coolest kids store in eastern Canada, Pinki Blue’s new location is so nice I can’t believe you don’t have to check your kids at the door. To be frank, I’d really like to ditch our loft and move into one of their cozy room set ups. Impossible to miss is their wicked kustom edition Roddler with a black quilted top and purple ultra suede insert. On top of it, the fenders are the only of their kind. Hand painted in a custom metallic blue and triple cleared by the legendary Art Himsl, it is appropriately a centerpiece of the store.

As promised, here is the second build we just rolled off the line and another first of its kind that is UK bound. Black chromed chassis with a black carbon fiber weave seat set off by a red and black trimmed top and painted speed scallops. Sounds like a mouthful but live in the flesh you’ll be propping your jaw back up. Check out the pictures below. In a cosmopolitan city like London where even the most unique things get lost in a sea of originality, these Roddlers are surely two pieces that will stand apart from the rest. We imagine it’s the last time it is going to be photographed with palm trees but they will be right at home with Big Ben. If the Brits are this bold, maybe even the timeless Silver Cross pram has lost a its charm without a drop axle and some billet wheels.
We don’t normally post our customers units unless they are something to write home about but the next two that are coming out of production are out of this this world [this being the first]. Gold chromed chassis and components with custom embroidered top and seat, custom metallic painted fenders, carbon fiber weave upholstery…wow. You can’t do justice to in pictures, but if you are in the UK, keep an eye out some lucky lad will be pushing this with pride. It might just be at a sandbox near you.

There is no question if you are looking for coolest and most innovative products for gear heads, SEMA is it. With over a million square feet of tins, fins and everything to bolt on your ride, “The Hub TV” was out sifting through every corner looking to find the best of the best. Leave it up to Amber Goetz and Hub Team to have found us, even without me there to stalk her.
With time to shoot only 35 spots for the whole week, they caught a glimpse of the Roddler, who was behind it and had to get it on film. It is still amazing to see peoples reaction when they see it for the first time. Especially hers! Amber is the expert in calling out cool, even in babyland! Check out the all star line up led by our very own Joe Iacono. Chip Foose, Adam Carolla, George Barris, lightweights need not apply. The craziest thing, the Roddler is still not a car.
