Ground control to Major Tom…

Like Michelangelo painting the Sistine chapel, this is a legend on top of a masterpiece. The Radio Flyer Roddler. Fuggetaboutit. Seriously, unless you are the chief wagoneer or one of the cohorts, this is to be admired from a distance.  Admired, fall head over heels in love with.  Its all rhetoric when you have an iconic brand slathered over a revolutionary product with a timeless appeal. There is very little that you can say other then, no seriously you can’t have one nor can you come over and play with it. I know. It sucks, but then the media gets a hold of it again, it gets blown out of proportion and then we need to send their receptionist flowers…so please, for your viewing pleasure only.

Real Recognizes Real

Lela Rosa, Henrik Vibskov, Bas Kosters, Owen Tartan, non of them ringing any bells hunh? Probably cause most of these collaborative projects somehow made the shipping container but totally missed the boat.  So we dusted off the Rolodex and decided we needed to set another benchmark. Targeted for release in late this spring will be the most genius of collaborations to hit the kiddie world since we tag teamed to make a t-shirt for Pinstripe Prep.  Kid Kustoms + Five Four, stay tuned for more information on the ultimate accessory for stylish Dadimg_07293s.

a Pregnant moment for the Roddler

It is clearly going to be a great holiday season for Kid Kustoms. We are still gleaming from the photo shoot at Pregnancy Magazine this past week and were lucky enough to get a wide angle studio shot to share with you. We wanted to give  our faithful readers a quick peek of a moment in the life of a world renowned celebrity [surely you know I'm not taking about Joe or myself].  The only thing cooler then the staff is that we are getting a full page feature in this February’s issue!  Naturally no ordinary Roddler would suffice, we had to step up our game for this opportunity. We brought one with the first polished chassis we have produced and decked it with Roger Andrews‘ Tins for Tots  fender submission.

I wish I could say that the novelty of getting a feature wears off but they keep rolling and I can’t wipe the stupid grin off of my face. I am actually quite concerned. All the years in the meat locker up north kept me looking young, but all of these awesome features are giving me laugh lines.

Live Wired

There are few things that make my holiday season the most special time of the year. Great times with friends and family, freezing my ass off back in Canada and Louis Segal’s pictures of our product featured in the Wired Store. Delivering like the mailman, only if the mailman was really a rock star who took the sickest pictures ever,  we’d try to lure him out to the Left coast with visions of soft sand and sunny beaches. Fortunately we’ve got the best in the West so Joe and I won’t need to start stacking bricks on the graveyard shift at Home Depot to afford him, or not just yet. This year Cookie Magazine staked claim to the kids section and the trike was unquestionably the centerpiece. I think I sent Cookie too many line sheets from the 2007 Pinstripe Prep collection cause the theme made me a bit nostalgic.

the Ultimate Press Feature

In order to grace the pages of the Robb Report,  you have to be pinnacle of luxury and exclusivity in your respective industry. In order to get a feature as a juvenile product, you either need to sleep with the editor or be redefining the category with something outrageously cool. Thankfully for Don, we made the grade on the latter.  I have been buying countless issues since long before I could even afford the magazine let alone the featured product. Two years of solicitations offering countless accolades as justification… I was about to ask if Joe would take one for the team.   As if it could come in a better issue then the gift guide and get better placement then consuming a half of the 10th page? Kid Kustoms, Thank you for coming. Good night.
